Lynx is a German tracked infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) develoed by Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH.

Lynx IFV is available in two main variants: the heavier Lynx KF41 and the lighter Lynx KF31.

Lynx is designed and manufactured by the German company Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH.

Depending on the variant, Lynx's weight varies from 34 to 50 tonnes.

The Lynx KF41 is the heavier variant, with of mass of 50 tonnes, while the Lynx KF31 has a weight of 34 tonnes and is amphibious.

The heavier KF41 is also slightly larger than the Lynx KF31.

Lynx KF41 has a length of 7.73 m (25 ft 4 in), while the KF31 measures 7.22 m (23 ft 8 in) in length.

Both KF41 and KF31 have the same width, 3.6 m, and the same height of 3.3 m to the top of the turret.

The crew consists of three (3) persons and six to eight (6-8) passengers. The KF31 can carry a total of six soldiers and the KF41 up to eight.

Lynx has steel armour with various applique modules and has smoke grenade launchers to cover from the enemy.

Lynx KF31 has a Lance turret equiped with a 30 mm Rheinmetall MK30-2/ABM or 35 mm Wotan 35 cannon.

Lynx KF41 has a Lance 2.0 turret fitted with a 35 mm Rheinmetall Wotan 35 cannon.

As secondary armament, Lynx IFVs are equipped with a 7.62 mm coaxial light machine gun.

Optionally, Lynx infantry fighting vehicles can be equipped with Spike LR2 ATGMs or UAV launchers.

As standard, Lynx IFV is powered by a 750 hp (563 kW) to 1,140 hp (850 kW) Liebherr diesel engine, but other options are also available.

The engine is coupled to an Allison X300 Series on KF31 and to a Renk HSWL 256 fully automatic transmission of KF41.

Lynx IFVs have swing arms with torsion bars suspension with shock-absorbers.

With a fuel capacity of more than 700 liters, Lynx infantry fighting vehicles have an operational range of 500 km and can reach a maximum speed between 65 and 70 km/h.
